I studied and graduated in the city of Bologna and one of the first thoughts that I, living it, there was that this city prosper and live in perfect harmony with its century-old University and us college kids who came from all over Italy. It already seemed prepared to welcome us. Everything we needed, almost magically, passed before our eyes and we could do was study. Everything else seemed to really think about the city of Bologna. Libraries, copy shops, offices, information, conferences, debates, housing, markets where spending to saving, etc. .. We were the target university's favorite shops, stores, cultural events, cinemas, theaters and more. How much money, we students, we left that city, yet still today, none of us really think that that money has been spent poorly. There was a return in terms of education, culture, experience and even fun. Bologna was a friendly city, as designed around its university. And welcome to bring in this huge amount of money that passed by our city's coffers. I say this because I think it's just as today the city of Chieti misses. It fails to take advantage of the presence of a University of highly respected, rapidly expanding in terms of credibility and reputation. Here, I believe, that the city of Chieti should look strongly aware that the University can be a powerful motor of growth for the local development of the city. Some time ago there was talk of transferring a university faculty on the hill. I proposed to identify a historic building in the center of Chieti and dedicate it to graduation ceremonies. However, beyond the specific proposals, it is clear Chieti should enrich the whole and not to penalize anyone, the meaning of my wants to say to break a lance in favor of those who support and want to implement the idea that along which the strategic thought to be local development of the city has to be the "Chieti University City." Students can to inject large amounts of wealth for the whole city, but they find great hospitality, services, facilities, physical space, cultural opportunities and ultimately, even entertainment and leisure. Therefore I believe that we should really more to do so, because as more and better Chieti will provide, the more the city can grow and prosper.
